A Portuguese Affair.

We are a small, independent project dedicated to honest Portuguese food. We select products we would serve at our own table – no food fraud, no inflated stories, just producers who care about flavour, land and people.

Our Story.
No shortcuts. No gimmicks.

Frankly Portugal begins in a corner of the Portuguese countryside, at Quinta de Sant’Ana. Not as a destination, but as a place of everyday life – vineyards, olive trees, and the steady rhythm of a working estate.

Our founder, Franziscus Frost, grew up there. His name reflects an Anglo-German family background – a German mother, an English father, six siblings – but his roots are firmly in the Oeste region of Portugal. Seasons were marked by harvests, meals were long and shared, and producers were people you knew by name, not by label.

That mix of perspectives shapes Frankly Portugal. An understanding of Portuguese food from the inside, paired with the curiosity of someone who has spent time elsewhere and learned how rare that quality can be. It brings a clear sense of what is worth preserving, what is quietly exceptional, and what speaks honestly of its place.

Frankly Portugal exists to share that perspective.

Rather than simply buying and reselling, we work closely with producers. We taste, ask questions, and choose products that stand on their own – starting with extra virgin olive oil, and gradually expanding into a wider pantry of Portuguese essentials. Each product is developed under the Frankly Portugal label with care and restraint.

The idea is straightforward: good products do not need noise. If you want to enjoy high-quality Portuguese ingredients without having to navigate every region or producer yourself, we’ve done the work.

Rooted in land, people, and an uncompromising belief in quality.
